2023-2024 PATRIOT'S PEN & VOICE OF DEMOCRACY

Attention Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Teachers and Friends of Middle School & High School Students:

The VFW's Annual 
PATRIOT'S PEN ESSAY CONTEST
and
 VOICE OF DEMOCRACY SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION 
is currently accepting entries

The Patriot Pen first-place national winner receives a $5,000 award and an all expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C.
The Voice of Democracy first-place national winner receives a $35,000 scholarship and an all expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C.  Awards are also given at the local, district and state levels.

The Patriot's Pen Essay Contest is open to students in grades 6-8 (on the October 31 deadline) enrolled in a public, private, or parochial school or home study program in the United States and its territories.

This year's theme is "How are you Inspired by America" Essays must be submitted to VFW Post 10429, along with the completed Patriot's Pen entry form no later than the October 31st deadline.

The Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition is open to High School (grades 9-12)students who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial school or home study program in the United States and its territories.
To enter: Download and complete the Voice of Democracy entry form and brochure.
This year's theme is "What are the Greatest Attributes of Our Democracy". The audio and written essay must be submitted to VFW Post 10429, along with the completed Voice of Democracy entry form no later than the October 31st deadline.
