Brad is a Life Member of Benbrook VFW Post 10429 and currently serves as Post Trustee. Since becoming a member, he has served as Jr. Vice Commander and served 4 years as Post 10429 Quartermaster. Brad served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean "Police Action" from 1953 until 1957 and was released from active duty with the rank of Staff Sergeant.


During his enlistment, Brad served two tours of duty at Camp Pendleton, California, one tour at Camp Gifu, Japan and his last assignment at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. Following his release from active duty he returned to school but eventually moved to San Diego and became employed as a guard at General Dynamics, Astronautics Division while attending night school. After being promoted several times, Brad decided to remain in the Security Field.

In 1966, he transferred to the Fort Worth Division of General Dynamics as an Investigator and eventually held positions of increasing responsibility until he was named Director of Security and Investigations, including Fire Protection for what became Lockheed Martin, Aerospace Division, Fort Worth. Brad retired from Lockheed in 1999.

Brad has three grown daughters from a previous marriage and is now married to his wife of 37 years, Wanda, who "put in her time" for the post during the years when the future of Post 10429 was in doubt. She has two grown sons and a daughter from a previous marriage.
