POST 10429 REOPENS AS BYOB

Paul Sights, Commander - 9/24/2020

Comrades,

I have good news.  VFW Post 10429 is opening next Thursday, October 1st at 3pm.  We are going to be initially open Thursdays and Fridays mainly through October and then reassess if participation dictates opening up more days.

Part of reopening means we were required to temporarily suspend our liquor license with the TABC in order to open.  However, we will be BYOB only, until the state opens everything up.

Please understand the post has bills whether we are open or closed. Opening does significantly increase our electricity bill. That means please stay safe, follow our guidelines and support our post!

We are offering the following amenities in order to pay the bills:

  • It will be BYOB ONLY!

    • Mixers/Set-ups will and must be bought at the post. (Soda/Tonic/Ice and Cups) No outside cups/glasses/tumblers will be allowed

  • If you bring alcohol to the post you must take what you don't drink home, we will not store any at the post. Same with bottles...

  • Mask will be required just as any business in Tarrent Co. currently does to enter. We will require social distancing when not wearing a mask to be adhered to as closely as possible. Your cooperation is appreciated.

  • Our first Burger night will be on Oct 9th. (3 weeks away, come volunteer or support the post!) Limited Menu will apply and hours will be 1730-1930hrs.

    • We need volunteers.

  • We will have our Queen of Hearts Game up and ready to go when we open! Come get a card and take your chances to win the pot!

  • Post will open for use On Thurs and Fridays only to start.

  • Monday, September 28th, 6pm is cleaning time. We've been closed since June, we need to get our fine building ready for visitors. We need volunteers.

I’m excited about getting the post back open and seeing everyone again.  Thanks for your support during this time.  We can’t wait for it to be over.

Sincerely,

Paul Sights
